I officially finished my Bento Box Pouch, and I am absolutely obsessed! She's fully hand-stitched, beautifully finished, and if I do say so myself... absolutely gorgeous. There's nothing quite like seeing a project come together after so many hours of stitching—it makes every stitch worth it.
At the moment, two projects are stuck in what I can only describe as Half-Finished Purgatory™. My Bookstack is technically finished—I just need to stitch on the cording. At this point, we should probably start taking bets the way people do for football games on when I'll actually get around to doing it.
I'm also about halfway through the Life of a Book Girl bookmark sample, and you guys... you're going to die when you see it. It turned out even better than I imagined, and I cannot wait to share it.
Last week I teased a new finishing technique I've been experimenting with, and after using it on these projects, I can confidently say it's a complete game changer. The invisible thread is actually... invisible! No more wrestling with it or trying to tuck it perfectly between the twists of the cording. It gives such a clean, polished finish, and I don't think I'll ever go back to my old method.
If you're a fellow self-finisher and would be interested in a tutorial on this new technique, let me know! I'd be more than happy to put one together because it's completely changed the way I finish my projects.
If you caught my Instagram Stories this week, then you already know I made a trip to Ridgewood Needlepoint—my favorite local needlepoint shop in Northern/Central New Jersey—and, well... let's just say my wallet didn't make it out unscathed.
I went in with the very responsible intention of kitting a few canvases, but you all know how that usually goes. I somehow left with the cutest Halloween canvas from the Needle Deeva trunk show, along with a few other goodies that definitely weren't on my shopping list. Zero regrets, though!

I've only put her to work on one project so far, but just having her sitting in my office has me ridiculously excited. There's something about seeing a shiny new stitching tool waiting for its next project that makes me want to start everything at once. I have a feeling she's going to become a permanent fixture in my studio.
A few quick updates! The binding tape is here to stay—it'll remain tape rather than sewn-on bias binding. While I know sewn bias tape has become popular, I personally don't love the idea of sewing fabric onto a canvas only for it to be cut off during finishing. It adds extra time, materials, and cost without providing much long-term value.
My goal has always been to keep Let's Stitch Studio canvases as affordable as possible without compromising on quality. Keeping the binding tape as-is means I can continue offering the same great canvases at the same prices, and I don't see that changing anytime soon!
